Implementation of action plans formulated at Youth TICAD 2025
Through ongoing collaborative projects by youth from Japan and Africa, we aim to realize Youth Agenda 2055
Youth TICAD 2025 is not a one-off event, but a major milestone in a grand 30-year future co-creation project. The journey toward realizing "The Future We Want," envisioned by youth from Japan and Africa, begins here.
The purpose is for young people from Japan and Africa to discuss actions toward realizing the "Future We Want" and to deliver their voices to TICAD.
We aim to deepen connections among youth from Africa and Japan, as well as across generations, to co-create a sustainable future.
Africa: The youth population is rapidly increasing, and by 2050, about 70% of the population will be under 30. While this presents a significant driving force, it also brings challenges such as youth unemployment and social instability due to insufficient education and employment opportunities.
Japan: Although Japan enjoys economic prosperity and a stable social foundation, the rapid aging and declining birthrate are increasing the burden on the younger generation.
By focusing on the complementary nature of these challenges and strengths, we aim to transform relationships through youth leadership.
Intensive program held in Yokohama from August 18 to 20, 2025

After on-site visits, participants will refine their ideas and present them in a final pitch to receive feedback.
The official TICAD thematic event (Youth Drive) will be held, featuring presentations of Youth TICAD outcomes and intergenerational discussions. In the evening, a cultural exchange event (Cultural Evening) will be held for youth to connect through music and art.
